I will read you review of a place we go to a lot called Shaolin Noodle House located on West Broadway Vancouver:When my mother gave birth to me she described me a small yellow mango coloured baby, and she was stuck in the hospital for two weeks eating horrible hospital food. My Aunt Sally brought her a spicy noodle dish from Shaolin Noodle House in Vancouver and she said she would always remember that as the best meal ever.
First of all, there are no Shaolin Monks serving Kung Fu and Noodles. Just a bunch of noodle dudes doing amazing things with raw dough - like cirque du Soliel of noodles. My sister watched the noodle magic.
For starters, this is an awesome Asian food restaurant. Some of my personal favourites include cutting noodles in soup, green onion pancakes, and green beans in spicy sauce. The green beans are rather interesting because they are mainly sort of sweet and salty with a sort of tangy rhyme but after you eat a bunch the spice in the sauce makes its appearance. The speedy service is also quality feature. Another good thing is that it’s priced well so my mother isn’t always eyeballing the bill with the Chinese Evil Eye. The downside is that the food is quite salty so you might not want to come here too often, unless you are ordering something non- salty like one of their exotic teas with Chrysanthemum flowers (which are way too expensive). One of their flaws is being kind of carbo- unhealthy and probably rather fattening but we are still heavy users of this Noodle Mania. I give their restaurant looks a 8 out of 10 because I’m not so sure about the colour scheme (Red and black and brown) and their choice of placement for furniture (crowded so that your neighbour is eyeing your green onion pancake). I could rant on about the expensive parking but instead I will simply say that this is a deliciously great restaurant in all but it could use some work on the technical stuff like line ups, service and parking. Overall, 8.5 out of ten Foodie Kid Forks. That’s a big fork!
