In February 2016, I began working at SAP. Before that I worked in Web design and development after graduating from BCIT. As most of my time is focused on SAPUI5 development, I only provide web conultation now in relation to web technologies. Starting off a web project correctly is important -- for all devices in use -- as users switch devices often during their daily lives.

I am part of a development team that creates software for SAP partners, that sell apps to other companies on SAP's behalf. Like the web design and development that I did from Septmber 2013 to November 2015, ensuring that apps work well on all devices is important. Users today do not just use one type of device. The apps need to be responsive and fit within defined screen sizes (smartphones are typically 640x360 pixels). And in some casses, the device may end up connecting to a database. With WordPress, this is always the case.

I graduated from BCIT with distinction. Trained in relevant web technologies, my GPA is 87%. During my last semester (April-June 2013), it was almost at 90%. I believe than any design work should always start with mobile devices and then progress to desktop design. Tablets can be accounted for along the way. Ask yourself, how many people are accessing content within areas smaller than 400px? Chances are, they are flipping Apple devices such iPhones, iPads and iPad minis. Is your site IOS compatible? Do you have an Apple app?
Technology has been with us since we started walking upright and there is no limit to our imagination along the way. Every problem can be broken down into a solution with defined steps. Trained in systems analysis, programming and database management at UFV, I understand the importance of following proper methodology. And when there is a need for refinement, having the right team members can make all the difference.

Any plan that is created has to be able to withstand all that lies ahead of it. This may mean a redesign at some point in time in order to improve your solution. Having a proper business plan is all part of this -- and it is a necessary part of specificying requirements. What do you desire to achieve? How is your solution different from your competition?

When you choose the right solution, often people will copy you (think of all the cover bands that have come since they split up). If you wish your website to continue it must deliver what your target audience expects. The solution(s) that are decided upon are NOT just the types of devices they are using. Content is important. In the majority of cases, a meeting isn’t necessary and most of our websites are generally completed with contact via email and telephone only. I place suggested website designs online via my secure testing site for you to view the work in progress. This way we can have regular communication to ensure you are getting exactly what you expect.
The time-scale of website design/development is often dictated by the client. If you have a deadline in mind, I will make every effort to meet it for you. The most common delay in the completion of a new website design is waiting for content to be sent (text/images). For most projects, I try to work within a 4-6 week time-frame. Note that I am not the one who will normally build the website. I will, however, ensure that it is done properly. I use Upwork and will provided you a quote on all web design/development.
All of my websites are designed with search engines in mind and the website design/development is compliant with search engine guidelines. However, it is a good idea to update your content on a regular basis with SEO-driven content (content marketing) to be certain that your website is kept up to date and complies with new rules etc.
This will depend upon the amount of information you wish displayed on your website. If you have many products/services, then it may be advantageous to have a database incorporated into your website design/development. I will discuss this in detail with you and if a database is advised I will explain in detail exactly how this will work and the costs associated with this.

My Design/Development Team

I handle all domain registration through Name.com and hosting through iPage or JustHost.

All of the freelancers that I hire can be found on Upwork and are approved by me and you once we have a solution in mind. I take full responsibility for those that I hire and ensure that they are getting the assigned tasks done as required. I use Agile methology -- and you are the "Product Owner". Overall, I act as your "Scrum Master" and track all requirements from beginning to end -- in each designated sprint. All of your website data is backed up by me personally and stored offsite.
